Teeth straightening in Rugby, your way: clear aligners or fixed braces

There’s more than one way to straighten teeth, and the right one depends on your case, your budget and how you feel about wearing them. This page lays out your teeth straightening options in Rugby honestly — Invisalign clear aligners and Spark fixed braces, with real prices, all provided by our own dentists on Newbold Road rather than a referral to an orthodontist elsewhere — so you can walk into your free consultation already knowing the landscape.

Teeth straightening in Rugby — two proven ways

Both get you to the same place — straight teeth that stay straight. They just get there differently, and each has honest trade-offs.

Where most adults start

Invisalign® clear aligners

From £3,250 all-in packages · whitening and retainers included

Removable, nearly invisible trays you change every week or two. Nobody has to know you’re straightening your teeth, and nothing changes about how you eat or brush. Fitted by Jasmeet, Ashwin, Nikkita and Jason — four dentists who provide Invisalign every week — with a free 3D scan and smile simulation so you can see your result before you commit.

For complex cases — or by preference

Spark™ fixed braces

£3,950 your exact plan confirmed in writing at your free consultation

We fit the modern Spark fixed brace system — brackets and wires, far more refined than the ones you remember from school. They work around the clock with zero willpower required, and for some complex tooth movements they can still do things aligners can’t. Provided by Dr Ashwin Patel.

Invisalign or fixed braces for straightening your teeth — honestly, which?

Teeth straightening questions, answered honestly

How much does teeth straightening cost in Rugby?

Invisalign packages start from £3,250 (all-in with whitening and retainers) and Spark fixed braces are £3,950. Whichever route suits you, you get an exact written price at your free consultation before anything begins, and 0% finance is available to spread the cost.

Am I too old for braces or aligners?

No — there's no upper age limit for straightening teeth, and a large share of the people we straighten are adults in their 30s, 40s, 50s and beyond. Healthy teeth and gums are what matters, not the year on your birth certificate. Your free consultation checks exactly that.

Which is better — Invisalign or fixed braces?

Neither, honestly — they're better for different people. Aligners are nearly invisible and removable, but demand discipline: around 22 hours of wear a day. Fixed braces work around the clock with no effort from you and handle some complex movements aligners can't — but they're visible and rule out some foods. Most adults choose aligners; complex cases and people who'd rather not think about it often do better with fixed braces. We'll tell you straight which camp your teeth fall into.

How long does treatment take?

Simple cases can be done in a few months; typical cases take 9 to 18 months whichever system you choose. The honest answer for your teeth comes from your free consultation — and we'd rather quote you a realistic timeline than a flattering one.

Will my teeth stay straight afterwards?

Only if you retain them — teeth drift back without retainers, whatever straightened them. Invisalign packages include retainers; after fixed braces we'll plan your retainers with you (removable retainers from £150 per arch, or a discreet fixed wire behind the teeth from £150). Wear them as advised and your new smile is yours for keeps.

Do I need to see a specialist orthodontist?

Not necessarily. Straightening at Rugby Smiles is provided by experienced general dentists — Dr Ashwin Patel for Spark fixed braces, and Jasmeet, Ashwin, Nikkita and Jason for Invisalign — and we'll always tell you honestly at your consultation if your case is complex enough to need a specialist referral instead. That honesty costs us the occasional case and earns us every review on this site.
