Made by Invisalign from the same scan technology, in a tougher, longer-lasting material — and you get three sets: one to wear, two spares in the drawer. Over the years, the spares are what make this the better-value option for most Invisalign patients — a lost retainer becomes a shrug, not an emergency.

Fixed (bonded) retainers

A discreet wire bonded behind the front teeth — nothing to remember, nothing to lose. Not right for every bite; we’ll tell you honestly if it would suit yours. We also repair existing bonded retainers.

How long do I need to wear a retainer?
Honestly? For as long as you want your teeth to stay straight. Nightly at first, and most people settle into a few nights a week long-term. It sounds like a life sentence until you remember it’s a slim piece of plastic you wear while asleep.
How long does a retainer last?
An Essix retainer typically lasts 1–2 years depending on grinding and care. Vivera’s tougher material lasts longer — and you have three sets, so a single set’s lifespan matters much less.
My retainer feels tight after a few nights off. Is that bad?
Tightness means your teeth have already drifted slightly and the retainer is pulling them back — wear it nightly until it feels passive again. If it won’t seat at all, don’t force it: book in, because you may need a replacement before the movement gets worse.
I had Invisalign with you — which should I choose?
Vivera, usually. It comes from the scans we already have, the material outlasts standard retainers, and the two spare sets mean you may not need to buy retainers again for many years.
Can you make retainers if I was treated at another practice?
Yes — a short appointment for a scan, then your retainers are made to your teeth exactly as they are now. The sooner after your treatment, the better.
