For players, in the town that invented the game

A custom gum shield, made in Rugby. Obviously.

Front teeth don’t grow back. A knocked-out tooth means a lifetime of dental work — implants, crowns, replacements every couple of decades. A properly fitted gum shield costs £150 and drops the risk dramatically. It’s the cheapest insurance in sport.

Why custom beats the boil-in-a-bag one

  • It fits, so it protects. A custom guard is moulded to your exact teeth with even thickness where impacts land. Boil-and-bite guards go thin exactly where you need them thick.
  • It stays in. No clenching to hold it in place — which matters at the bottom of a ruck.
  • You can breathe and talk. Which is why custom guards actually get worn, and drawer-guards don’t.
  • Junior sizes and team colours. Kids’ guards sized properly for growing mouths, in whatever colours the team demands.
Parents: school rugby and hockey seasons are when we see the knocked-out front teeth. A scan appointment takes minutes; the guard is back within days. If your child is registered on our plan, their check-ups are already free — add the guard while you’re in.

The gamble

One awkward tackle and a knocked-out front tooth means an implant from £3,000 — rebuilt and re-treated for the rest of your life. Front teeth don’t grow back.

Questions people ask us

How long does a gum shield last?
Adults: several seasons with care. Children and teenagers: usually one season or school year — growing mouths and new teeth change the fit, and a guard that doesn’t fit doesn’t protect.
Do you do children’s sizes?
Yes — junior guards are most of what we make. We account for erupting adult teeth so the guard fits through the season.
What about braces or Invisalign?
Tell us — we design guards that work over fixed braces, and advise on the right approach if you’re mid-Invisalign.
A tooth’s been knocked out — what do I do?
Time matters: hold it by the crown (not the root), push it gently back into the socket if you can — or keep it in milk — and call us immediately on 01788 579 577. See our emergency page.
