What dental implants really cost in Rugby

"What's roughly the cost of 4 implants?" is one of the most common questions we're asked — usually by someone bracing for a vague answer. So here are the actual numbers, what changes them, and the questions worth asking about any implant quote, including ours. For the full picture of options and who does the work, start with dental implants in Rugby.

Our prices, in plain figures

Two things about those numbers. First, "from" means the simplest version of each treatment — a straightforward single implant in healthy bone really is £3,000 here, but not every mouth is the simplest case, which is what the free scan establishes. Second, the price includes the crown — the visible tooth on top. That matters more than it sounds, as you're about to see.

Why quotes vary so much between practices

Search for implant prices and you'll find figures from under £2,000 to over £4,000 for what sounds like the same thing. It usually isn't the same thing. The honest reasons prices differ:

  • What's actually included. The single biggest trick of a low headline price: it's often the implant post only. The abutment (connector) and crown — the parts that make it a usable tooth — arrive later as separate lines. A "£1,800 implant" can pass £3,000 by the time it can chew.
  • Scans and planning. 3D CT scanning and planning are sometimes charged separately. Here the 3D scan is part of the free consultation.
  • Bone grafts. If bone has shrunk (common after years with a gap or denture), grafting adds genuine cost anywhere. No practice can quote it fairly without a scan — be wary of any that promises a final price before one.
  • Who places it and what's on top. Implant systems, crown materials and the experience of the clinician all differ. Ours are placed by Dr Savan Zala, who holds an MSc in dental implantology.
  • What happens if something goes wrong. Reviews, adjustments and aftercare are included by some practices and billable by others.

Five questions to ask about any implant quote — including ours

  • Does the price include the abutment and the crown, or just the implant?
  • Is the CT scan included, and will I get my treatment plan in writing?
  • What happens to the price if I need a bone graft — and will you tell me before we start?
  • Who places the implant, and what are their implant qualifications?
  • What do reviews and aftercare cost in the first year?

Ask those five anywhere and cheap quotes tend to converge on normal ones. We'd rather you compared properly than chose us blind — patients who compare tend to become our most confident patients.

"So what would 4 implants cost me?"

The honest answer to the exact question we're asked most: it depends what the four implants are for, and sometimes four isn't the right answer at all.

  • Four separate missing teeth, replaced individually — from £3,000 each.
  • A whole jaw of failing teeth — four implants supporting a fixed bridge is exactly what All-on-4 is: £15,000 per arch, teeth included, often cheaper than many individual implants.
  • A loose denture you want to stay put — two to four implants that a denture clips onto costs considerably less than fixed teeth, and for many people it's the right call.

Which of those fits your mouth is a scan-and-examination question, not a guessing one — and if implants aren't your best option at all, we'll say so. Our honest dentures vs implants comparison is the fuller version of that conversation.

Making it affordable

Nobody has £3,000 in the "spare" column. The realistic routes our patients use: 0% finance to spread the cost into monthly amounts, and staging treatment — replacing what matters most first, the rest when you're ready. A written plan makes both possible; pressure to "sign today" makes neither. We do the first, never the second.

And if you're weighing up treatment abroad to save money, we've written honestly about that too: what to know about dental work overseas, and how we look after it afterwards — no judgement either way.

Common cost questions

Why do some clinics advertise implants from £1,800?
Sometimes it's a genuine offer on the implant post alone, with the abutment and crown priced separately; sometimes it's the simplest possible case that few patients match. It isn't necessarily dishonest — but always ask what the complete, chewing tooth costs. Our from-£3,000 figure is that complete number.
Is the consultation really free? What's the catch?
Really free, including the 3D scan, and a fully refundable £10 deposit holds the slot. The "catch" is transparently commercial: we think when people see their own scan and get a written price, enough of them choose us. If you take your written plan and go elsewhere, that's a fair outcome too.
Will the price change after we start?
No — the written plan is the price. The only honest exception is something genuinely unforeseeable, and it would be discussed and agreed before anything continues, never billed afterwards.
How long do implants last — is it worth it?
Well-maintained implants routinely last 15+ years and often far longer; the crown on top may need renewing sooner. Spread over their life, a £3,000 implant costs less per year than most phone contracts. The maintenance is ordinary: good hygiene and regular hygienist visits.

What the £3,000 actually includes

Three thousand pounds here is the finished tooth, not the first invoice. It covers the free consultation and 3D scan, the planning, the implant itself, the surgery to place it under local anaesthetic, the healing reviews, the abutment that joins implant to crown, and the crown, matched to your other teeth and fitted. The two things it does not include are the ones the scan decides: a bone graft, £400 if needed, and IV sedation at £500 a session if you would rather be deeply relaxed for the surgery. Both are in your written plan before you commit, never added on the day.

One tooth

£3,000 including the crown. The simplest case, in healthy bone. The scan tells us whether yours is that case.

Several teeth

From £3,000 per implant, each with its crown. Often fewer implants than missing teeth, because an implant can carry a small bridge.

A whole jaw

All-on-4 at £15,000 per arch with same-day fixed teeth, or £30,000 for both. An implant-retained denture that clips onto two to four implants is quoted in writing at consultation.

Spreading it: the real monthly figures

Finance is through our partner Chrysalis, subject to status, and the terms are simple: interest free over six, ten or twelve months, or 14.9 per cent APR over two to five years, with a deposit of anything up to half. On a £3,000 implant that is £250 a month over twelve months with nothing added, or about £70 a month over five years, which adds roughly £1,200 in interest across the term. An All-on-4 arch at £15,000 is £1,250 a month interest free over twelve months. We show you the exact figures on the calculator at the consultation, and the finance page has the current terms.

The other honest route is staging. Replace the tooth that matters most first, live with it, and do the next one when you are ready. Nobody here will push you to do everything at once.

What we cannot quote without the scan

Any practice that gives you a final figure before a scan is guessing, and the guess is usually low. Ours is written down after the scan and it is the number you pay.

“I would rather you left the consultation with a real number you did not like than a nice number that changed later.”

Is it worth it? The ten-year sum

A well-maintained implant routinely lasts fifteen years and often far longer; the crown on top may need renewing sooner. Over ten years a £3,000 implant costs less per year than most phone contracts, and the running cost is the hygiene you should be doing anyway, £92 a visit with Airflow. Compare that with a denture that needs relining and eventually remaking, or a bridge that puts load on two healthy teeth, and the implant is usually the cheapest option per year of use, not the dearest. The comparison is laid out in dentures versus implants.
