Invisalign in Rugby · the honest guide
How much does Invisalign cost? Rugby prices, monthly figures, and what is actually included
Written by Dr Tim Bond, principal dentist at Rugby Smiles · Reviewed September 2026
The short answer: £3,250, £3,650 or £3,950, depending on how much your teeth need to move, and everything is in that number. Simple front-teeth cases can also fit Invisalign Express, from £2,495. Those are the whole prices. Not starting prices, not prices before the scan, the retainers and the refinements are added on.
I am going to set out exactly what is inside each figure, what it costs per month, what a £1,500 advert usually leaves out, and the one cost that catches people out at other clinics. If you would rather skip the reading, the free 3D scan gives you your own price, in writing, in about an hour.
Our prices, and what each one buys
Invisalign packages differ in one thing: how many aligner sets they include, which is another way of saying how far your teeth need to move. Which package you need is decided at the scan, not by you guessing. The monthly figures below are 0% over twelve months and, for longer terms, the five-year figure at 14.9% APR representative.
Express
from £2,495
Lite
£3,250
Moderate
£3,650
Comprehensive
£3,950
Representative example: Invisalign Moderate £3,650 over 60 months at 14.9% APR representative, £84.87 a month, total payable £5,092.20. 0% finance available over 6 to 12 months. Finance is subject to status, 18 and over. Rugby Smiles is a credit broker, not a lender.
What is inside the price, line by line
This is the list I would want to see from any clinic before I paid a deposit. Every item on it is included in every package at Rugby Smiles.
The 3D scan and digital plan
The iTero scan and your ClinCheck plan, showing the finished smile before you commit. Free, whether or not you go ahead.
Every aligner in the package
Up to 7, 14 or 20 sets, or unlimited on Comprehensive, plus attachments and any IPR your plan needs.
Refinement rounds
Two included on Lite and Moderate within two years, one on Express within a year, as many as your case needs for five years on Comprehensive.
Free whitening
Professional whitening once your teeth are in their final position. Not an upsell at the end.
Vivera retainers
The retainers that keep the result. Included, not a separate invoice on your last visit.
Twelve months of aftercare
Check visits during treatment and the year after it, with no per-visit charge.
Why a £1,500 advert is not the same treatment
You will see Invisalign advertised from £1,500, and sometimes lower. I have no problem with a clinic pricing a genuinely simple case at that level. The problem is what the headline usually leaves out, and it is nearly always the same list: the scan is charged separately, attachments are extra, refinements are extra, whitening is an add-on, and the retainers arrive as a final bill you were not expecting. Add those back and the £1,500 case often costs what ours does, with the difference that you found out in instalments.
“Compare what is included, not the headline. Any clinic that is confident in its price will put the whole of it in writing before you sign anything. If they will not, that tells you something.”

Mail-order aligners are a different thing again. Cheaper up front, because nobody examines your gums and bone before moving your teeth, nobody bonds attachments, and nobody checks the teeth are tracking. Moving teeth without those things is not a bargain; it is the reason we see people for a second attempt.
The cost nobody mentions: refinements
Around the end of most Invisalign cases, the dentist rescans and orders a further set of aligners to finish the job. It is normal, we explain why here, and it is the cost that catches people out. At many clinics each refinement round is charged at £300 to £500, and a case can need more than one.
Our policy is simple. The refinement rounds your package includes cost you nothing. Any round beyond that is a flat £195, whatever the package. That is written into every treatment plan, so there is nothing to negotiate at the end.
Invisalign, fixed braces and DIY aligners: the cost comparison
Fixed braces at Rugby Smiles are £3,950 all-in with the Spark system, fitted by Dr Ashwin Patel, so for a Comprehensive case the price is the same either way and the choice is about your teeth and your life, not money. The full comparison is here.
DIY aligners are cheaper up front and dearer in every other way: no examination, no attachments, no supervision, no refinements, and no one responsible when a tooth does not track. If budget is the issue, an honest conversation about Express, or about bonding for a small cosmetic problem, is a better place to start than a kit through the post.
Invisalign Open Day: Saturday 10 October
We are running an Invisalign Open Day on Saturday 10 October with ten free scan slots. Anyone who books a package on the day gets £250 off, on top of everything already included. Details on the Invisalign page, or ring 01788 579 577 and Georgia or Sorrel will hold you a slot.
Questions patients ask about the cost
How much does Invisalign cost per month?
At 0% over 12 months: Express from about £208, Lite £271, Moderate £304 and Comprehensive £329 a month. Over five years at 14.9% APR representative, Moderate is £84.87 a month and the other packages sit roughly in proportion. Finance is subject to status and we show you exact figures at the scan.
What is included in the Invisalign price?
Everything the treatment needs: your free 3D scan and digital plan, all the aligners in the package, attachments and any IPR, the included refinement rounds, free whitening at the end, Vivera retainers, and twelve months of aftercare. There is no separate charge for check visits during treatment.
Are there any hidden costs with Invisalign?
Not here. The two costs that catch people out elsewhere are refinements and retainers. Refinement rounds are included in every package, and any round beyond that is a flat £195. Retainers are included. X-rays, if needed before treatment, are £10 each.
Why is Invisalign cheaper at some other clinics?
Usually because the advertised price is a starting point rather than the whole story: the scan, attachments, refinements, whitening and retainers are added later. Compare what is included, not the headline. Ask any clinic to put the full price in writing before you sign.
Can I get Invisalign on the NHS?
No. NHS orthodontics is limited to under-18s who meet strict clinical criteria, and it does not fund Invisalign. Adult teeth straightening is private treatment everywhere in the UK.
Is Invisalign worth the money?
For the right case, yes, and the free scan is how you find out whether yours is one. You see your finished smile, your package and your exact price before you spend anything, and if straightening is not going to give you what you want, we say so.
Your own price, in writing, before you decide
The free 3D scan takes about an hour and ends with your finished smile on screen, your package and your exact price. No deposit, no obligation, and no lecture if the answer is not yet.
