Veneer prices in the UK run from about £500 to £1,500 a tooth, with London at the top and overseas clinics far below it. The number depends on the material, the laboratory, the number of teeth, and who is designing them. Here is what our price includes, what pushes prices up or down elsewhere, how many you might need, and the questions worth asking any clinic before you commit to something that is, unlike bonding, permanent.

The veneer price includes the free consultation and design, the preparation visit, the temporaries you wear while the porcelain is made, the laboratory work, the fitting visit and a review. Whitening, if you want the porcelain matched to a brighter shade, is separate at £550 or £600 and comes first. 0% finance over 12 months spreads six veneers to £350 a month, or £97.66 a month over 60 months at 14.9% APR representative. What decides veneer prices anywhere
- The material: standard porcelain, lithium disilicate such as e.max, or zirconia. Ours are handmade porcelain chosen for the tooth; some clinics charge a premium for a brand name.
- The laboratory: a UK ceramist who colour-matches by hand costs more than an overseas lab working from a photograph, and it shows in the result.
- How many teeth: veneers are priced per tooth, and most clinics do not discount a set, so six cost six times one.
- How much preparation: a tooth that needs reshaping or an old filling replaced takes longer than a simple front tooth.
- The dentist's design time: shade, shape and symmetry are decided tooth by tooth, and a preview in temporaries is part of that.
- Where you are: central London runs 30 to 60 percent above the rest of the country for the same work.
How many veneers do you need?
Fewer than you think, usually. A single discoloured or misshapen front tooth is one veneer, £700, matched to its neighbours. Two front teeth that are chipped or uneven is two. A smile-line change across everything that shows when you smile is typically six, occasionally eight or ten. We do not recommend veneering healthy teeth to match a set, because each veneer removes a thin layer of enamel that does not grow back. Veneers, bonding and whitening: the honest comparison on price
Whitening, from £550
If the shape is fine and the colour is the problem, whitening changes the shade of the tooth itself and costs less than one veneer.
Bonding, £250 a tooth
Chips, worn edges, small gaps and one short tooth. Reversible, repairable, one visit. £1,500 for six against £4,200 in porcelain.
Veneers, £700 a tooth
Heavily discoloured, worn or misshapen teeth, or a heavy bite that would chip resin. Fifteen years without staining, at the cost of a little enamel.

The Turkey question
Veneers abroad are advertised at a fraction of UK prices, often as a set of twenty in a week. Much of what is sold as veneers there is crowns: the teeth are ground down to pegs and capped, which is irreversible, needs root canals in a proportion of cases, and cannot be undone when the crowns fail in ten to fifteen years. A UK porcelain veneer removes a thin layer of enamel from the front surface only, and how much depends on the tooth. Replacement, repair and the cost over time
Porcelain veneers typically last ten to fifteen years and often longer, with UK audit data putting ten-year survival above ninety percent. When one chips or a margin wears, it is replaced rather than repaired, at the per-tooth price. That makes the honest lifetime cost of six veneers roughly £4,200 every twelve to fifteen years, against a bonding smile line refreshed more often at £1,500.
