Not registered anywhere

Between dentists, new to Rugby, or just haven't got round to it. You don't need to be our patient — or anyone's patient — to book a hygiene visit here.

Happy with your own dentist

Maybe your practice has no hygienist, or the wait is months. Come to us for the clean and stay right where you are for everything else. We won't try to poach you.

Want a healthier mouth, fast

Stains before a big event, bleeding gums you've been ignoring, or just that fresh-from-the-hygienist feeling. Book this week, walk out brighter.

What happens at your visit

A gentle clean — not the one you dread

Your visit uses EMS Air-Flow® and Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT): a warm spray of water and fine powder that lifts away plaque, biofilm and staining — tea, coffee, red wine — without metal instruments raking your teeth. Ultrasonic cleaning is used only where hardened tartar actually needs it.

And a promise: if we spot something that needs a dentist's attention, we'll tell you honestly and leave the decision entirely with you — see your own dentist, or ours. No pressure either way.

What hygiene patients say

From our Google reviews, in patients' own words.

★★★★★

"I saw Lucy the dental hygienist. I was a bit nervous about this visit but didn't voice it. She and Georgia were so lovely, putting me right at ease without even knowing I was nervous. They use a new and very comfortable tool for dental hygiene — Airflow. The overall treatment and experience was so excellent, I just had to leave a review."

★★★★★

"I went for my first hygienist appointment with Lucy today — it was fantastic and almost pain free. I'm usually quite nervous about my teeth and gums, but glad I went. Lucy was very good and explained everything as we went along. My teeth look and feel better. Could not recommend more."

Direct Access, explained

Do I really not need to see a dentist first?
Really. UK regulations allow dental hygienists and therapists to see patients directly for hygiene care — no examination, referral or prescription needed first. You book, you come in, you get your clean.
Do I have to register with Rugby Smiles?
No. Direct Access is designed for people who aren't registered with us — and there's no obligation to join afterwards. Plenty of Direct Access patients keep their own dentist and simply come to us for hygiene. If you'd ever like a dentist here too, a new-patient check-up is £45 at the moment — but that's entirely up to you.
What does the £107 include?
A full hygiene appointment with our hygiene team, including the complete Air-Flow® (GBT) clean — assessment of your teeth and gums, stain and biofilm removal above and below the gumline, gentle ultrasonic cleaning where needed, and personalised advice. If deeper gum (periodontal) treatment would help, it's £90 per quadrant and always agreed with you first — never sprung on you.
What if you find a problem with my teeth?
We'll tell you plainly what we've seen and what we'd recommend — then the choice is yours. Take it to your own dentist, or see one of ours; there's no pressure and no hard sell. Most visits, though, are exactly what they say on the tin: a great clean and home.
Is this the scrapey kind of clean?
No — that's the point. Air-Flow (GBT) replaces most of the scraping with a warm, fine spray that's far more comfortable and brilliant on staining. Does it hurt? Read the honest guide →
I'm nervous — even about a hygiene visit.
You're in the majority here, and our hygiene team hear it every day. Tell us when you book and we'll go at your pace — nothing happens without your say-so. If you'd rather talk it through first, you can arrange a free chat with Georgia, our treatment co-ordinator. How we look after nervous patients →
How often should I come back?
Six-monthly suits most people; some gums do better with more frequent visits, and we recommend three-monthly cleans if you have dental implants. If you'd like your visits sorted automatically, our Dental Plan from £22/month includes two Air-Flow cleans a year — though it does mean registering with us.

Book straight in — that's the whole point

Online in under a minute or by phone. No exam first, no registration, no pressure — just a properly good clean.
